Family Group Conferencing


The study focuses on the current trend of social work with offenders – juvenile delinquents in terms of family group conferences, which are an integral part of restorative justice. The author focuses on the definition of family group conferencing and its development, people involved in the process – from the perspective of victim and offender and their family members. Subsequently, the author presents a family conference process, which is composed of five levels: recommendations of the conference, training, conference, implementation plan and review of the plan. Finally, outlines the problems of family conferences in the context of social work.
