Application of the Concept of Social Functioning by the Adult Client with Intellectual Disabilities


This paper deals with the possibilities and limits of application of the concept of social functioning in social work with adults with mental disabilities. The authors define mental retardation, deal with the changing characteristics and residential care, and theoretical and application level discuss the concept of social functioning. They work with factors and paradigms client situation; specify its strengths and weaknesses and roles. In conclusion bring proposals to the potential client solutions unfavourable situation.
