Work-Life Balance as Gendered Issue? Perspectives of Social Workers


This text deals with gender perceptions by social workers who work with families. It contains some findings from a qualitative study. The goal was to determine how mothers and fathers are dealt with as clients in social work to resolve difficult situations in the interactions between family and work life. The analysis confirmed significant differences between the perceptions of mothers and fathers. As a result of gender prejudices and stereotypes social workers could not meet the needs of clients with the context work and family life.
