Stereotypes about the Homeless

The goal of this study is to present public beliefs and attitudes on homelessness and describe prevalent stereotypes in this area. The paper shows differences between respondent’s answers and findings from previous surveys on homelessness and explains how these partially false assumptions can influence the policy towards homelessness. Numerous research results indicate the key role of formal education which can dispel negative homelessness stereotypes by presenting appropriate information.
