Factors Influencing the Readiness of Cities to Implement the Integration Policy of Foreigners

Abstract
OBJECTIVES: The aim of this article is to answer the question what factors influence the readiness and possibilities of cities to implement their own integration policy. THEORETICAL BASE: Relevant theoretical concepts are based on migration studies and social policy. METHODS: This is a multi-case explanatory study. OUTCOMES: The study identified a number of factors from the legislative setting of the integration policy to the level of intercultural competences of the administrative and professional representation of the city. SOCIAL WORK IMPLICATIONS: Social departments of municipal authorities play a relevant role in the integration policy of cities. The intercultural competence of municipality social workers is an essential condition for a successful city integration policy
