Abstract
The article Care of People with Severe Hearing Impairment at the Turn of the 19th and 20th Century
describes the education of people with hearing impairment which causes the lingual impairment.
The importance of education and integration of deaf-mute people into society is shown by the interest
in this topic mirrored in the period magazines. The article primarily finds inspiration in them
and summarizes the situation, focusing on the education in the Czech lands.
