Abstract
OBJECTIVES: The text seeks to answer the question of how to understand the relationship between the practice of social work and the law from the position of critical social work, and how to deal with present collisions. THEORETICAL BASIS: The theoretical base of the textis c ritical social work. METHODS: It is conceived as a theoretical essay. OUTCOMES: The output is the proposal of an outline for critical reflection of legal dilemmas. SOCIAL WORK IMPLICATIONS: The proposed tool could be an alternative to the binary discourse of the perception of law in social work, which is practically manifested by the precise obedience of the law, or, by contrast, violations of the law in situations where the law collides with values of social work.
