Implementation of Information and Communication Technologies Into the Practice of Social Work in Selected Target Groups

Abstract
OBJECTIVES: The fundamental aim of the paper is to point out the relevance of information and communication technologies (ICT) in social work with children, youth and seniors, their connection in the context of intergenerational learning and the risks associated with modern technologies. THEORETICAL BASE: ICT has a specific place in social work. The theoretical framework of the paper is based on technological standards in the practice of social work (NASW, ASWB, CSWE, CSWA 2017). We look at the implementation of ICT in the practice of social work from the perspective of current problems and needs related to the rapid growth of ICT. METHODS: The paper is conceived as a theoretical analysis of the possibilities of using ICT in social work. OUTCOMES: By comparing the frequency of using ICT for personal use for selected activities of older people, we found that in 2021, the use of ICT in several categories increased, which may be due to the current pandemic situation and the need to maintain social contact. We have also found that intergenerational learning appears to be highly effective in the context of ICT. SOCIAL WORK IMPLICATIONS: The use of ICT in social work can not be done without respecting basic ethical principles. Used carefully and effectively, they can improve various methods of social work and increase the quality of social services provided.
